This is an interesting story as a couple is suing a landlord for their deposit back and to get out of their lease after discovering their house was haunted. They claim they were never told it was haunted but, even if it was, it turns out he would not have had to legally tell them.

The landlord says it is not haunted and is a hoax so they can get out of the lease. He is counter suing.

Watch the video on the page and read the article for more information. Do you think it really is haunted? I don’t know that I have read enough or that the video shows enough to say it definitely is haunted but, then again, I don’t have to live there.

As to the bowling pin, I’d like to know if the investigators set it there or why a single bowling pin sets in the basement. There might be a good explanation. I’m just saying I would have thought someone would have questioned it.

There is a haunted house attraction in Columbia, Missouri that the owner felt was actually haunted. He called in some ghost hunters to investigate and it seems his thought is correct.

Here is the haunted information. I hope you enjoy it.

Once I started getting some emails from folks, my eyes were opened.

One of the things you requested is more some spots where there are more haunted places in a relatively close area. So you plan a trip to Ohio and you look for haunted places in Ohio.

One of the things I want to do on this site, and have succeeded in doing in the book I wrote, is to investigate these hauntings and show some of the history behind them which helps explains why these hauntings are taking place. So it takes considerable time to write an article. It took a lot of time to write the book.

So many haunted places show up across the internet but without explanations or any verification. I hesitate to include them.

So my plan is to write separate ebooks along the way that will focus on a state. Ohio will likely be the first one I choose since I live here but I’ll add books as I go along. If you have an area you are interested in, put it in a comment and if there is an interest there, I’ll put it on my list of things to do.

The idea will be to have enough places with the history behind it that maybe putting in an occasional spot that people claim is haunted will work and if you are nearby, you can stop by if your interest peaks.

This is a long term project. But this site will continue to have haunted places added to it that I have been able to delve into.

Now is there any wonder why this city is considered to be one of the most haunted places in the U.S.?

The Hampton Lillibridge House is thought by many to be the most haunted house in the country.

The infamous witch trials are a big part of our history.

It all began with two young girls whose actions convinced locals that, since they were examined by a physician and claimed healthy, witchcraft had to be involved.

As things spiraled out of control, people of all sorts were being accused of being witches and many were subsequently hanged.

Over 150 people were arrested and imprisoned, and there were a lot more who were accused but never formally pursued by the authorities. All 26 who went to trial before this court were convicted.

That’s a story in itself and a very interesting story that shows mass hysteria at it worse.

Read about the Haunting s in Salem as it is one of the most haunted places in the U.S. and probably my favorite.

When they are true, it takes on a different meaning.

When I decided to start this haunted places blog, I talked to some friends and family and it seems almost everyone, whether they actually believe in ghosts or spirits or not, seemed to be able to recall one or more instances of a scary or unreal type.

The first I remember was way back when. I was driving from Ohio to California to get married and had driven for about 40+ hours without sleeping. I was on Rt 80 in the mountains of Nevada. It was going to be a number of miles to the next rest area so I was trying to stay awake.

I dozed off. I woke up when someone was tapping me on my shoulders, just in time to avoid heading over the side of the mountain. Now that was a wake up call!

But I was alone in the car. I swore someone was hitting my shoulders trying to wake me up. It was eerie. My grandfather had passed away a few months previous and I always have it in the back of my mind that he woke me that day. I don’t completely believe that but it’s in my subconscious.

Well this site is about things like that and actual haunted places, haunted houses, cities, whatnot; things that seem to be unexplainable.Things such as Bird Cage Theatre in Tombstone, Fort Chaffee in Western Arkansas, Manteno State Hospital and more.

I’m getting scared just thinking about it.

I hope you feel free to add your own haunted experiences.
